1983
1983: Company established with 1 truck and driven by Mr IA Joosab himself.
1986-1989
1986-1989 Truck number 2,3 and 4 were purchased in this period.
1994
1994: Our First Interlink Tautliner introduced to the fleet powered by a M.A.N 26-552 which became standard in our fleet.
1997-1998
1997: First son, Mr Ebrahim Joosab joined Colt Transport.
1998: Moved from home office to our new home situated in industrial area of Pietermaritzburg – 2 Eden Park Drive, Mkondeni.
2002
2002: New Trailer Livery designed.
2004
2004: The Start of a fantastic relationship with the International truck brand.
2007-2008
2007 (June): Massive Milestone as we outgrew our office and built new state of the art building which incorporated warehouses with dock loading facilities and an undercover loading & Offloading area.
2007 (July): Started relationship with Freightliner.
2008: Second son, Mr Muhammad Arshad Joosab joined Colt Transport.
2011
2011: Started Relationship with Volvo Trucks.
2013
2013 (Jan): We built a specialist workshop vehicle that is fully equipped to cater for any breakdown.
2013
2013 (June): Redesigned Trailer Branding
2013 (June): Our 50th vehicle with a special livery to commemorate this milestone. Handed over to our oldest driver Mr Zeblon Mncwabe.
2014
2014: First company in South Africa to order the first fully imported Volvo trucks that consisted of Autonomous Emergency Braking system and adaptive cruise control with lane changing support and radar technology. This worked so well that it became our standard equipment on all our vehicles going forward.
2015
2015: Bought 8 New Volvo Trucks imported directly from Sweden. Special guest Christian Coolsaet (MD of Volvo Trucks SA) attended this function where he handed over the vehicles. Our Customers and Suppliers where invited to spend the day with us and had to opportunity to evaluate our new technology.

2016-2018
2016: Acquired depots in Gauteng and Harrismith (KZN).
2017: Fully change our fleet to white livery.
2018: Acquired adjacent Property and built state of the art Workshop in Pietermaritzburg.
2022
2022 (May) : Special moment in the company history as we taken delivery of our 100th vehicle. This vehicle has been designed with a special livery to Commemorate this special milestone for COLT TRANSPORT family.
